The Root of Chinese Qigong

The root of chinese qigong is a book to start with if you are interested in history and theory of chi kung. Dr. Yang Jwing-Ming has done remarkable work in studying old chinese texts and translating those. All the basic principles of chi kung can be found from the root of chinese qigong. Book explains all the basic energy channels of human body and differences between buddhist and taoist chi kung as well as the meaning of intention Yi and many more basic terms of chi kung.
Book doesn't contain almost any exercises, but still it is book to read.

I recommend that you read this book if not at the beginning of your journey to chi kung then later when more questions have come to your mind.
I had a good theacher to begin with, but I still found this book to be only one giving certain answers to certain questions.

Chi Kung

Chi kung (Qi gong) is Chinese term used for many practises: physical, mental, health, self-enlightment and is used as part of martial arts.

I have practised chi kung for several years and just started practising xing yi chuan, internal style of chinese kung fu. At first it was really hard for me to find information about chi kung. Chi kung is not something your neighbours start chatting about when you see them in the morning. My intend is to review books that have found really helpful, although nothing compares to a teacher which is breathing next to you.
